You will own software components that enable effective operation of space-grade hardware, and will work shoulder-to-shoulder with hardware and FPGA engineers to develop RF solutions that provide communications and sensing capabilities across multiple orbits and vehicle classes.ResponsibilitiesGather and review software requirements for space-faring applicationsWrite, debug, and test reliable code running on Linux-based embedded systemsOperate and automate hardware-in-the-loop setups to perform effective system and regression testingCollaborate with hardware and FPGA engineers to rapidly develop features and squash bugsSupport deployment of software to customer vehiclesRequired SkillsProficiency in C++Experience developing embedded software on on baremetal, RTOS, or Linux platformsKnowledge of CMake, Make, and equivalent build toolingUsing debugging tools in the embedded stackExperience building exhaustive unit and functional tests in a rapidly evolving codebaseDesired SkillsExperience developing reliable software for spacecraft or life-critical applicationsAutomating workflows and tests in PythonProficiency in GitExperience configuring and modifying CI pipelinesExperience working with the buildroot stackExperience working with FSBL, U-boot, and embedded LinuxExperience writing software that interacts with the FPGA fabricExperience developing on Xilinx MPSoC-based devicesUnderstanding of fundamental communications systems concepts, such as modulation, coding, and framingIn order to comply with the space technology export rules of the U.S.
